Aquaculture Health Consultant & Biomedical Research Expert — PhD
Dr. Diana Ceballos Francisco
Researcher on the first study on aquaculture health funded by FondoCyT in the Dominican Republic and trainer in aquaculture health, biosecurity, and animal experimentation, with over 10 years of experience in peer-reviewed research in Europe. I collaborate with biotechnology companies, contract research organizations (CROs), and aquaculture companies that require high-level scientific expertise, publishable results, and access to the Caribbean market.
The challenge
Great science requires
the right partner.
Biotech companies, CROs, and aquaculture firms face the same three challenges when scaling their research.
Finding the right expert is hard
Most consultants are generalists. You need someone who has actually done the lab work, published the results, and understands your specific niche from the inside.
Caribbean market access is a black box
You see the opportunity in Dominican Republic and the Caribbean. But you don’t have institutional contacts, local knowledge, or regulatory fluency to enter with confidence.
Scientific output demands real expertise
Publishable results, fundable proposals, and credible reports require a researcher who has done it before — not someone learning on your project’s budget.

Recognized by the Dominican Republic
at the highest level.
In 2025, I was featured on Dominican national television alongside Dr. Yussi — as two of the first female veterinary PhDs from the Dominican Republic. The interview covers our FondoCyT-funded study on aquaculture health: the first nationwide sanitary assessment of fish farms in the country.

What this means
A government-approved research project featured on national TV is not a line on a CV — it is proof of institutional trust at the highest level in the Dominican Republic.
Why it matters for you
If your company is looking to expand into the Caribbean aquaculture market, Diana is the only researcher with active government relationships, field data, and scientific credibility on the ground.

About Diana
About Dr. Diana Ceballos Francisco —
Dominican Republic Aquaculture Expert
I grew up in the Dominican Republic, studied veterinary medicine at UASD, and then moved to Spain to complete a Master’s and a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the University of Murcia — where I spent nearly a decade researching fish immunity, wound healing, and aquaculture health.
After my PhD, I joined the Instituto Murciano de Investigación Biomédica (IMIB), where I contributed to the European project ULISES, working on immunology and cancer biology with interdisciplinary teams.
Today, I combine that European research rigor with my roots: I serve as lead researcher on a project funded by FondoCyT (Fondo Nacional de Innovación y Desarrollo Científico y Tecnológico) to assess the sanitary situation of aquaculture farms across the Dominican Republic — the first study of its kind in the country, currently being extended due to its relevance and impact.
I work remotely, I deliver on time, and I speak your language — both scientifically and literally.
